Anyone who has been to Buttermere knows the little white cottage that greets you as you descend the Honister Pass into the valley.
Gatesgarth is nestled at the south eastern end of Buttermere Lake, and is a popular spot for walkers. It's not hard to see why, with it being the closest base for many incredible walks, including Haystacks, Warnscale Bothy and the Buttermere infinity pools. But when the walkers leave at the end of the day, you'll experience the unique magic of having this breathtaking view to yourselves.
